FAQ:

Can I enter with an existing creation?

Yes, you can submit existing creations. Both new and existing content created between May 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026 are acceptable. 

 

Can I add music to a submission?

Yes, you can add any music to your submission. 

 

For song submissions, can they be longer than 60 seconds that are within the MB limit?

No, all submissions must be both 60 seconds or less AND should not exceed 250 MB. 

 

Can my submission include generative AI?

We ask that all entries be original works created by the person submitting them and that they avoid the use of generative AI.

 

Am I able to submit the same project into different categories?

Yes, if you feel your creation could fit under multiple categories you can submit it to more than one category. Each entry will be evaluated based on the guidelines of the category it has been entered to.

 

Does in-game cosplay count?

The cosplay rules do not restrict valid entries to real-world cosplay.

 

Can the Sky photography be edited?

Yes, edits to photography are acceptable.

 

Can I feature multiple crafts/photos/clips in one entry?

Yes, compilations and entries that feature multiple creations are acceptable. Compilations will be counted as 1 entry and do not increase your chances of winning. 

 

Do entries have to be in English?

No, entries do not have to be in English. 

 

Are joint creations allowed?

Yes, joint creations are allowed, but the creation can only be submitted 1 time by 1 person. Only the person who SUBMITTED the content will receive the prize. 

 

Can I submit a video of my real self playing any music?

Music entries should be Sky-inspired and may use in-game content or music created and recorded outside the game.

 

What counts as “IP Collaborations”?

Please avoid using any and all IP collab items, maps, spirits, or anything that would make the IP clearly identifiable. This is applied to every category.

This includes levels, gameplay, spirits, imagery, and items. IP collaborations in Sky include:

  • Season of The Little Prince

  • Le Petit Prince content from Days of Bloom 2025

  • Season of AURORA and AURORA Encore Concerts

  • Season of the Nine-Colored Deer

  • Season of Moomin

  • Kizuna AI Collaboration

  • Cinnamoroll Pop-Up Cafe

  • Alice in Wonderland content from Days of Feast 2024

  • Nintendo Switch Starter Pack and Nintendo Switch secret area content

  • Companion Cube item

Sky content from The Two Embers and Journey cosmetics are allowed.

 

Are emotes from IP Collaborations ok to use?

Yes, all emotes are OK to use except the AURORA “Cure for Me” dance emote.

 

Are only people who submit to all 7 categories qualified for the chance of being a Premier category winner?

No. Entry in all categories is not required to qualify for one of the Premier categories.

 

Can submissions be in other file formats?

Submissions should be visual in nature and files should be .mp4 or .mov for video and .jpg or .png for static.

 

Can I feature out-of-bounds areas or easter eggs in my submissions?

The Sky Creator Awards involve all Sky players across the world. We encourage the entries that other players can sympathize with and follow through, no matter how old or new they are to Sky. In that sense, we do not recommend featuring a gameplay that may be inaccessible to some.

 

Can I post my submission on more than one platform?

Yes! Just make sure to use the correct hashtags when posting and to follow the instructions on our website for submitting your content.

 

Can I feature concept art from Sky?

Yes, it’s fine to feature concept art.

 

Do mini-games count as in-game creations? Can I submit livestreams/transitions/<insert type of content> for the Creator Awards?

Absolutely! As long as your content follows the rules and requirements for the Sky Creator Awards, it counts! Choose the category you feel resonates with your content the best.

How does daily voting work?

You can cast votes each day, voting resets at midnight PST.

 

Can I submit content that contains copyrighted music?

You can add any music to your submission; however, we would like to note that the usage of copyrighted music does not grant players permission or rights to use recordings that can otherwise be copyright-claimed on your social media of choice. We have no control over whether or how actions are taken by the copyright owners. Creators upload videos to these sites at their own risk, at the sole discretion of the terms of service of the respective social media service.

 

Why does the link to share my creation say “Woobox” instead of using the Sky website url?

We’re currently using Woobox as the official platform to securely host and manage the contest. That’s why the shareable link includes “Woobox” in the URL. Rest assured, the link is completely valid and will direct voters to the correct Sky voting page. We’re in the process of updating our auto-generated links so they’ll reflect the Sky website branding in the coming days.

 

Is landscape orientation required for submissions? Can I submit my content, such as photos or videos, in portrait orientation?

Submissions can be in either landscape or portrait orientation.
