Sky features various ways to share your sentiments, creativity, and personality with the world around you through Player Creations. Player Creations include Message Shrines, Message Candles, Message Boats, Shared Spaces, and Shared Memories.

Note: All social feeds expire after seven (7) days.

Beginning with the April 10, 2024 0.25.0 update, once you ‘like’ a Player Creation, the menu gives the option to use three (3) Candles to send a Heart to the creator of that message, Shared Space, or Shared Memory.

  • The recipient will be able to pick up their Heart(s) from the Daily Quest shrine in Home or the Friendship Constellation statue in Aviary Village.

  • Players can send a Heart to the player who made a Player Creation even if they aren’t already friends.

  • Player Creation Heart gifts can be given in addition to regular Heart gifts on the same day if two players are already friends.

  • You can send an individual player a maximum of one (1) Heart through one of their Player Creations each day, regardless of how many Player Creations they have placed in the realms.

  • The creator of a Message, Shared Space, or Shared Memory can also receive multiple Hearts for a creation they’ve made.

  • All social feeds expire after seven (7) days.

Only friends with whom you’ve unlocked chat can see your Player Creation until they have received one (1) ‘like’. After that, anyone can see them.

This replaces the previous system that rewarded one Heart after a certain number of ‘likes,’ so receiving a set amount of ‘likes’ no longer results in a Heart. However, players will still be able to ‘like’ any creation they see.

What are Message Shrines?

Message Shrines are special features you can find throughout the world of Sky that allow you to create Message Candles. Message Candles are placed on Message Shrines, and contain a written message that your friends and potentially other players can read.

There are two types of Message Shrines; Gratitude Shrines and Quest Shrines. They function in similar ways, yet feature key distinctions listed below:

  • There are multiple Gratitude Shrines that are always present throughout all the levels.

  • Only a single Quest Shrine will appear at a time as a quest, but they can appear in many different locations.

  • You can only place a single Message Candle at each shrine, yet you can have multiple Message Candles active at one time. Travel to new shrines to leave more messages!

  • Violating the chat policy prevents the message from appearing until the message has been updated to a version acceptable by the chat policy.

What are Message Boats?

Message Boats are a type of spell that function similarly to Gratitude Shrines, with the following exceptions:

  • Message Boats must be placed in water. However, some locations are restricted in order to prevent issues with gameplay.

  • You can get Message Boat spells from the spell shop at Forgotten Ark or the Sleepy Traveling Merchant's boat docked at Home.

  • You can only have a single message boat in each area. If you place a new boat, it will remove the older one.

  • Message Cranes function the same way as Message Boats, but with a different cosmetic appearance.

What are Shared Spaces?

Shared Spaces offer a way to come together with others and express yourself, while having some more fun with props. In a Shared Space you have the ability to place different props or multiples of one type of placeable (depending on item volume) in order to craft a customizable, cozy space for you and your friends.

There are two ways to create a Shared Space: Shared Spaces shrines and Shared Spaces spells.

Shared Spaces Shrines work similar to Message Shrines, which shows lanterns representing yours and other players’ Shared Spaces created at this location. You can:

  • Give your Space a name

  • Give ‘likes’ to other players’ spaces and gift hearts through their spaces

  • Temporarily make a Space visible to others around a Shared Space shrine at a given moment

A message will alert a player that their ‘like’ count on their public Shared Space will be reset if they overwrite and remake that Space.

Shared Spaces Spells allow players to create Shared Spaces almost anywhere in the world of Sky outside of Home. If you’d like to create a space away from the shrines, off in a shady corner or favorite spot, you’re now able to create those Shared Spaces using a Shared Spaces spell.

Please note that Shared Spaces Spells need to be cast on dry land and players should take care to not stand too close to things like Candle locations, meditation circles, or Spirits.

You can find Shared Spaces  spells at the spell shop at Forgotten Ark or at the Sleepy Traveling Merchant's boat when it’s docked at Home.

What are Shared Memories?

Shared Memories allow players to record a glimpse of their past for others to see. A Shared Memory  records an avatar’s movement for a brief period of time. Then, once the recording is finished, a special candle appears in the world representing this memory. Friends and other players who find it can tap on it to replay this visual message.

To view someone else’s Shared Memory, tap on a Shared Memory candle that displays in the area around you.

There are two ways to create Shared Memories: Shared Memories Shrines and Shared Memory Spells.

Shared Memories Shrines work similarly to Message Shrines, which show candles representing your and other players’ Shared Memories created at this location. These shrines can be found at a few locations in the world of Sky.

The Shared Memories shrine in Aviary Village has weekly prompts, for players looking for ideas for their Shared Memories.

Shared Memory Spells allow players to create Shared Memories almost anywhere in the world of Sky. If you’d like to create a space away from the shrines, off in a shady corner or favorite spot, you’re now able to create these memories through this spell.

Shared Memory spells too can be found at the spell shop at Forgotten Ark or at the Sleepy Traveling Merchant's boat when it’s docked at Home.

How to use a Shared Memory Spell:

  • Cast the spell from the potions and spells section of the Expression Menu, then find a spot on dry land to start your recording from (take care to not stand too close to things like Candle locations, meditation circles, or Spirits).

  • Select the “record” icon when ready, and then move, dance, fly, or anything else that comes to mind while the spell captures your movement.

  • You’ll have the chance to preview your memory after it’s captured, or try again until you’re satisfied.

  • When it’s ready to share, simply give it a name and it will be placed in the world for others to see!

Here are a few things to remember while using Shared Memory Spells:

  • Shared memories need to be placed on dry land and players should take care to not stand too close to things like Candle locations, meditation circles, or Spirits.

  • A message will alert a player that a new Shared Memories recorded in the same area will replace the existing one.
